  • well its been even longer now since i last updated. the semester's over. my classes were hard, but not too hard. i had to pull 1 all nighter and a lot of late nights to finish all the tons of papers i had. i ran a half marathon (13.2 miles) in 1:58:54, that's about a 9:15 minute mile, which is extraordinary and all the Lord's grace.
Ultimate has been really fun, we did decently in the other 3 tournaments we went to this semester (dallas w/2 teams, one going 2/4 and the other 0/6), harvest moon in fayetteville w/2 teams in college and club divisions, b team going 0/6, a team going 3/3 i think), and then harding tournament in searcy, AR going 4/2, with both losses against the same team on sat and then sun.
i got elected to be a captain next semester, so I'm really looking forward to that.
im no longer in a relationship, i was for about 2 weeks, back when i last posted and mentioned it at that time.
i did change my major, now it's intercultural studies instead of family and human services.
Christmas is coming up. and yet it's 65 degrees where i am right now.
I'm going to the Urbana missions conference 2 days after Christmas until Jan. 1, then who knows what.
classes start january 8, which seems all too soon.
God is working, and a friend and i are praying for revival at JBU's campus (who knows what that looks like).
i just went running with mark for the first time ever, and it was really fun.
who ever reads this is awesome, thanks. sorry i haven't posted in a while, i got pretty apathetic about it. still am. whatevs.

    w/Hope,

    what? xanga?

so it was exactly 2 months ago that i last posted. college life has been crazy. crazy awesome, but still crazy definitely. God is good, and life is good. im going on a retreat this weekend w/the school, but ill talk more about that on ym next post. so far:
orientation was great (i was an O leader)
    tons of new freshman
tons of people playing ultimate (about 35-50 or so? at practice each day)
for a while the tendonitus in my ankles was no problem, but a week ago it started hurting a very small amount, but maybe it's nothing? feel free to pray for that
we had a tournament last week in memphis (5.5 hours away or so), lost 3 of 4 games saturday, lost our 1 game on sun. i only played on sunday b/c i had a retreat kinda think saturday morning. i drove 6 hours both ways to play 1 game of ultimate. that makes me laugh. and thankful for erica olsen for driving w/me and taking her car.
um, emilie and angela, that thing ya'll wanted me to do... just go for it.... i went for it! and it's going well! heck yeah. praise the Lord.
uh, my major? what am i going to do with that? who knows, change it at some point....
im training for a half marathon, in like 2 and a half months or so, so that'll be sweet.
im tryin out another new church, it's called antioch. i like it so far, and interviewed the pastor for a class i have. he knows kristen johnson's dad. they've travelled on mission trips together. freakin what in the world? I love it when God works stuff out like that.
so that's a very brief synopsis of my semmester so far. i might be coming home for fall break ro part of it, we'll see what happens. i heard aaron's in town, that's redonkulous. (yes i know what i typed). what a goober.
love you guys, thanks for reading my xanga faithfully or not so faithfully, however you do things.
Praise the Lord with me y'all.

    w/Hope,
    -David Dawson.

PS incase you are wondering, that comment to emilie and angela is about a girl. she's really cool.

  • i hat my wisdom teeth taken out on thursday, july 13. it was all fine. it doesn't hurt until the pain killers wear off, but then i take some more. it is kinda wierd to feel the holes in the back of my mouth now. i need to go to sleep though, because tomorrow is going to be really busy and i still have to get ready some for it. God is good, all the time. y'all should think about/support missionaries, because it's something a lot more of us should be doing. Go forth in God's Name, for there is a lot of authority in it.

ps. going to Ukraine in 2 weeks! crazy!!

  • I'm mainly on to post these song lyrics, but i figured henry wouldn't mind if i mentioned that he broke his arm  about 2 weeks ago or so. it was a pretty horrible brake, but i have no idea how it happened, so i can't answer that question for you, sorry. please pray for him some. He's still fine im sure, God's grace is sufficient.

So i heard this song on the radio today and started crying at the second verse. wow, wierd experience, b/c i don't cry very often (less often than i wish, to tell the truth); but a few times while listening to songs that have lyrics that hit me really hard i will, as was the case w/this one. Go listen to it and pray over it. no, i mean seriously do it. it's probably the best use of your next 10 minutes anyway.

    Casting Crowns
    We Are The Body

    It's crowded in worship today
As she slips in, trying to fade into the faces
The girls teasing laughter is carrying farther than they know
    Farther than they know

But if we are the body
    Why aren't His arms reaching
    Why aren't His hands healing
    Why aren't his words teaching
    If we are the body
    Why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way
    There is a way

A traveler is far away from home
He sheds his coat and quietly sinks into the back row
The weight of their judgemental glances
Tells him that his chances are better out on the road

Jesus paid much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the body of Christ

    If we are the body.......
